Ugh. I just couldnt enjoy this at all. The writing and story were mediocre at best. The lines of dialog were very stilted. I have read quite a bit of North and South fan fiction, fantasy, sequels, variations, etc. This book lacked the smoothness that most everything else I have read. It didn't move along as the story was told and quite frankly lacked the finesse of writings found on places like AO3. I am very sorry I wasted money on this book.Product details

"My Soul to Keep" greatly affected me emotionally - the murder mystery was skillfully crafted, thanks to the writing ability of author Loyal Wynyard who continuously give us some thrilling adventures of John Thornton and Margaret Hale - their love and devotion with each other is beyond compare - it seemed like they were both created under the same mold - heart, mind and soul are the same - which enabled them on how to handle the most difficult trials and situations beyond anyone's imagination. A brilliant and thrilling resolution to the murder mystery - thank goodness! The moral of the story is - if you unselfishly give your precious time and support for someone in need without expecting something in return, usually the blessings from above is worth a thousandfold - overwhelmed with their unexpected "rewards" the self-sacrificing couple could now believe that behind the clouds there is a silver lining - wrapped in gold !
I liked the story it was intriguing as well as the love angle. The story held my interest even though I know that John and Margaret would end up together.
My only regret is that I have not experienced love like that, surely Wynyard can spin a tale of love and woe in the same breath, otherwise, breathtaking or my heart broke into a full tattoo.
